Westminster’s on-site, direct service mission partner is the St. David’s Harman Center for Child and Family Well-being, located in the church’s newest wing. The St. David’s Partnership and Child Welfare Ministry Team collaborates with the Center to help fulfill its mission of promoting healing and well-being for children and families with histories of adversity and trauma.
The Harman Center provides children’s mental health services, pediatric rehabilitative therapies, day treatment for young East African children diagnosed with autism, and a community education series for parents and professionals on parenting and child development. The Ministry Team supports the Harman Center’s families and staff by:
- Planning and hosting an annual Foster Parent Appreciation Night
- Hosting Social Justice Forums at Westminster to increase awareness of the Harman Center staff to help support Center activities and meet ongoing needs
- Coordinating with Harman Center staff to help support Center activities and meet ongoing needs
The St. David’s Partnership and Child Welfare Ministry Team welcomes new members at any time! The team meets quarterly, with some additional meetings for team members working on specific projects or events. You’re invited to email the ministry team chair to learn more and to sign up for Faith in Action News to have upcoming event details delivered directly to your inbox.
The team invites your continuing prayers for St. David’s Harman Center and the children and families they serve, and for all those who support child well-being, that they may be strengthened in their work to help all children flourish.
