Westminster’s Third Age ministry presents forums for people 60+ years. However, everyone, of any age, is welcome to attend the forums or join the planning committee.
The name “Third Age” comes from the idea that life consists of a few phases. The First Age is youth – a time to grow and learn. The Second Age is when time and energy are spent raising a family and/or building a career. The Third Age is when there are often fewer commitments and more flexibility in schedules. A time to study, travel, volunteer, enjoy hobbies and other opportunities.
Third Age is the period of life that is our focus–creating programs for Westminster’s Third Agers to thrive intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually. We recognize that it is critical for people at this point in life to stay engaged, have social contacts, and a sense of purpose.
Our vision is for Westminster to be a more inclusive, interconnected, involved and multigenerational church. Through sustained, imaginative, collaborative, and informative programming, the Third Age ministry provides a place of belonging for Westminster’s older adults to thrive spiritually, socially, physically, and intellectually.
Third Age programs are typically held in the Meisel Room, on the second Wednesday of the month from 11 am to 12:30 pm September through May and include lunch (subject to Covid-19 community levels). For more information or to be placed on our email list, please contact Rev. Margaret Fox. We hope you will join us in person or online!
