I am excited about the way the Holy Spirit is at work in and through Westminster, as we welcome those who seek a church home, and as we reach out to those who need to know God’s love and grace.
Meghan began her professional life as an AmeriCorps VISTA worker in Columbia, Missouri, running a literacy and tutoring program in the public elementary schools. Later, while studying at Princeton Theological Seminary, she did a yearlong international internship in youth and family ministries in Lausanne, Switzerland.
After serving as a Lilly Resident Minister at First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, MI, Meghan was called to Westminster in 2007. Meghan embraces Westminster’s mission to listen and respond and do God’s good work for peace and justice in the city and beyond. “People fuel my ministry at Westminster: my gifted colleagues on staff, our incredible lay leaders and church community, and the people of the city we serve. I love extending the hospitality and love of this congregation to those who are in our midst, providing care to an individual or family in a time of need, and being a part of the incredible worship of God that happens each week and in new ways.”
As Executive Associate Pastor, Meghan supports the work of the staff as they fulfill the vision for Westminster, leads the new member classes, and coordinates the congregation’s vocational ministries. From 2013-2015, she participated in the first cohort of the Collegeville Institute Fellows program, an ecumenical group of Minnesota pastors and ministers who come together to focus on pastoral leadership and development. She currently serves on the Strategy Team of the NEXT Church organization in the PC (USA).
Meghan grew up in a suburb of Detroit and received her B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University, majoring in psychology and women’s studies. She earned her Master’s of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, and her Doctor of Ministry from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, in Congregational Mission and Leadership. An avid triathlete and runner, she has completed dozens of half and full marathons, including the fabled Boston Marathon. Meghan and her husband Matt are the proud parents of three school-age children.
