Health & Healing Ministry

The Health & Healing Ministry team reflects often on the fact that health and healing were central to the ministry of Jesus. We strive to be the eyes, ears, hands, and feet of Christ in all our relationships, not only our faith community. We are a telling presence as we offer monthly blood pressure screenings, self-care education, and advocacy. Health promotion articles provide insight and challenge ignorance and misinformation. Our annual safety booth creates an intergenerational learning experience that invites discussion and application.

COVID-19 update: Until further notice, blood pressure screenings are suspended, and our hands-on-safety booth experience postponed. However, health promotion efforts continue in the form of articles highlighting self-care and safety in the Magnet Senior Center newsletter.

Meal Ministry

The Meal Ministry team is committed to helping Westminster individuals and families during times of change (new babies, illnesses, surgeries, death of a family member) by offering the gift of meals as a token of support and respite during their time of forming new families, healing, or grieving. During COVID-19, the Meal Ministry team is still providing home cooked or purchased meals and/or gift cards for restaurants or delivery services such as Bite Squad to members who have made requests.

If you would like to join the team, please email westminstermealministry@gmail.com. By adding your name to the list, you’ll receive an email when there is a meal need in the church. You can then either volunteer to either prepare or purchase and deliver a meal, or to provide a restaurant or food delivery service gift card. Cooking for a family is always optional.
