Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24
Westminster”s Global Partners Ministry Team nurtures the church’s longstanding relationships with faith communities in Cameroon, Cuba, and Palestine (West Bank). The team plans opportunities for Westminster members to visit sister congregations and related Christian organizations in these communities to share friendship, prayer, worship, and community service. These global partnerships have resulted not only in treasured congregational relationships, but also in deepening of our shared faith.
This ministry is carried out through three Partner Teams, each of which welcomes new members at any time:
- The Cameroon Partner Team supports a school and Presbyterian Church Kumba Town through an association with the Presbyterian Theological Seminary, also in Kumba Town. The team includes a number of Westminster members who grew up in Cameroon as children of the Kumba Town congregation, and whose extended families continue to live and worship there. You’re invited to email the Cameroon Partner Team chair to learn more and get involved.
- The Cuba Partner Team supports an active ministry to install and maintain clean water systems in partnership with the National Synod of the Presbyterian Reformed Church of Cuba in Havana. The Cuba Team also maintains a long-term partnership with the Versailles Presbyterian-Reformed Church in the city of Matanzas. Westminster visits with our Cuba partners occur every other year. You’re invited to email the Cuba Partner Team chair to learn more and get involved.
- The Bethlehem Partner Team supports relationships with the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church and Dar al-Kalima University College of Arts and Culture in Bethlehem, Palestine. These two institutions provide ministry and outreach to the community through their Diyar Consortium, plus high-quality college education to young Palestinians of all faiths. The team works with our Bethlehem partners and with Twin Cities resources to present opportunities to listen, to learn, and to promote social justice through forums and projects such as Windows into Palestine. Westminster visits to Bethlehem occur every two or three years. You’re invited to email the Bethlehem Partner Team chair to learn more and get involved.
The Global Partners Team invites your continuing prayers for the congregations with whom we are in covenant relationship, and for the important work of fostering global support for faith communities.
