Pastor Transition

Westminster Presbyterian Church has been blessed with steadfast leadership with one senior pastor for nearly 25 years. In April 2023, the Rev. Dr. Tim Hart-Andersen announced he will retire at the end of October.

As early as Spring 2022 Westminster’s Session began preparing for Tim Hart-Andersen’s eventual retirement by creating a Succession Planning Team (SPT). Over many months, the SPT has examined various succession models; spoken with more than 18 pastors and churches who have recently engaged in the succession process; met with leaders of the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area; and, prayed for the Spirit to help the church discern an appropriate plan for transition.

During the next several months, the Westminster community will celebrate Tim and Beth’s time at the church. At the same time, the SPT will begin the process of calling a Transitional Pastor to assume leadership responsibilities for an interim time and the process to call a new Senior Pastor to lead Westminster.

The Succession Planning Team invites the community to stay up to date on the process through regular updates in Westminster News and posted here.
