TownTalks returns with a conversation about Black wealth in Minnesota. Black Minnesotans have a rich history of entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity. Yet Minnesota has some of the deepest economic disparities for communities of color. Two expert guests will explain the obstacles and inequities affecting Black economic prosperity in our state. They will highlight potential policy, program, and investment solutions to advance racial equity.
Tawanna Black is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Economic Inclusion. For more than 20 years, she has worked with companies, nonprofits, and governments on equitable talent, supply chain, philanthropy, and marketing strategies.
Marcus Owens is a social entrepreneur, corporate and nonprofit leader, and fourth-generation North Minneapolis resident. He previously served as Chief Executive Director of the African American Leadership Forum and the Northside Economic Opportunity Network.
