5 pm Happy Hour | 6 pm Presentation
TownTalks is a new program engaging young adults in reflection and dialogue on the key issues of our day from an ethical perspective. Join us for a panel discussion with four local entrepreneurs who exemplify Women Leading; they are setting the stage for future women entrepreneurs, small business owners, and CEOs. They’ll share stories of the values and vision that motivated them to write their blogs, form their businesses, and express their creativity in fresh and dynamic ways.
The panelists include popular blogger Melissa Coleman, known as The Faux Martha, author of the book The Minimalist Kitchen; Ashley Mary, an artist, illustrator, graphic designer, and prop stylist who blends bold colors and modern shapes to create unique works of art; Carly Van Veldhuizen, whose business, Girl Friday, creates stunning, one-of-a-kind displays, installations, props, and décor that you have to see to believe; and Alex West Steinmann, co-founder of The Coven, a diverse community of women and non-binary folks who come together to inspire and empower each other. To top it off, MPR’s arts reporter, Marianne Combs, will moderate the discussion.
Join us at 5 pm for a happy hour with appetizers and a cash bar, and then gather at 6 pm in Westminster Hall for the program.
This event is free and no registration is required. For more information, contact Susan McKenna, director of the Town Hall Forum and TownTalks, at 612-332-3421 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
