Living a life filled with purpose and passion requires good health in mind and body. The next program in our New Old Adventure series is about health and wellness. This discussion will focus not only on the illnesses that more commonly occur as we age, but also the types of activities and behaviors that will sustain and optimize our active lives.
On October 17, we will talk about both intervention and prevention, focusing on the health issues that seniors commonly encounter and the care options to consider. Health issues can become complicated. We might experience many issues at once, requiring many systems to interact, yet we also might find that small changes can make a large impact. Some topics we will discuss include falls and imbalance, incontinence, cognition and sleep, and pain management. Our speakers will be Mrinalini Mudkanna, MD, a geriatrician with Allina Health, and Jessica Berglund, PT and doctor of physical therapy with Lifesprk. Both speakers will focus on helping us sustain our active and purpose-filled lives.
