Family Matters is a group for parents and caregivers looking to build community at Westminster. This fall we’ll take a look at Search Institute’s findings on building strong parent/caregiver-child relationships.

During the past couple of years, parents and caregivers have spent a LOT of time with their kids (thank you, global pandemic) and no doubt those relationships changed in both expected and unexpected ways. In what ways were your relationships strengthened? In what ways were they challenged? In what ways did they grow? Search Institute has identified five keys to strong parent/caregiver-child relationships. My guess is many of these keys were present in some ways for you and your kids during the pandemic; let’s discover what they were and how you might continue to strengthen those all-important relationships with your kids – pandemic or not.
