Coming Together Week

In years past, Westminster Presbyterian Church has held Coming Together Sunday on the Sunday after Labor Day as an opportunity to launch the new church programming year. However, because of the Covid-19 pandemic this year, Coming Together Sunday will stretch across five days rather than just one. This will allow people to participate safely either online or in person, and allow for social distancing.

Here are the various events, in chronological order, including links to registration forms. Reservations are required to participate in events this year to keep track of attendees for health and safety reasons.

Remember: Reserve your spot. Wear a mask. And practice social distancing. Let’s keep finding new ways to safely gather and foster community at Westminster!

Sneak Peek Saturday

September 12 | 10 am-2 pm
Marquette driveway, Westminster Presbyterian Church

It all gets underway with a Sneak Peek Saturday for our Families, Youth, and Children. Stop by the Marquette driveway to receive a Blessing of the Backpacks, supplies for the virtual fall programming, and to participate in a contactless Passing of the Peace. Registration for this event is now closed.

Coming Together Sunday

September 13 | 9:15 am Learning Hour

Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan will join Tim Hart-Andersen for a livestreamed conversation during the 9:15 am Learning Hour on Coming Together Sunday. The event is co-sponsored by the Social Justice Forum and Adult Education Council.

Coming Together Sunday Zoom Coffee Hour

September 13 | Noon

Following the 10:30 am service, Westminster will host its first Zoom Coffee Hour. Tim Hart-Andersen will offer welcoming remarks and then participants will divide into small groups for conversation. This will be the first of many Zoom Coffee Hours held on Sunday mornings—just like in church, but without the cookies. Registration for this event is now closed.

Coming Together Sunday Picnic

September 13 | 3 pm
Parks throughout the metro area

Groups of 10 or fewer will meet at various parks throughout the metro area. Sign up for a preferred location and receive more detailed information. Deacons and other lay leaders will gather the group and find a spot for participants to sit and enjoy a snack. Bring a snack for yourself (not to share), a mask, and enjoy fellowship with other Westminster members. Registration for this event is now closed.

Coming Together Drive-thru

September 14-16 | 6-8 pm
Marquette driveway, Westminster Presbyterian Church

Come to the Marquette driveway to see your pastors and enjoy some special music, art, and fun. For three nights, pastors will be at church to visit briefly and celebrate the launch of a new program year. Registration for this event is now closed.
