Great River Landing, Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative’s development in the North Loop that Westminster is backing, has received $14.1 million in low-income housing tax credit financing. The development is the fourth resulting from the Housing 150 collaboration among Westminster Presbyterian Church, Plymouth Congregational Church and Beacon, created several years ago in honor of the congregations’ sesquicentennial anniversaries.

Great River Landing will be located at 813 North 5th Street in Minneapolis and will provide single room occupancy and efficiency apartments for 72 adults who have been incarcerated, homeless or unemployed. Better Futures Minnesota will provide 24-hour, on-site support services to help the men find work, establish rental history and reconnect with their families.

“These are men who have made a commitment to change their lives,” said Lee Blons, executive director of Beacon Interfaith Housing. “Great River Landing is about building community and about healing from trauma.
