For many years, Westminster’s youth have enjoyed Arts Month, with guest teaching artists from the congregation and community. This time, adults are invited to join in the fun! Westminster’s Hidden Art

Join Westminster Gallery Director Dr. Rodney Allen Schwartz for a behind-the-scenes art tour at Westminster following the Ash Wednesday service on March 2. Rodney will show off lesser known parts of Westminster’s building, all of which feature some of the fabulous gems of our collection. The art tour will end in The Westminster Gallery with a new exhibition for the seasons of Lent and Easter.
Bringing Your Film Photographs into the Digital Age

In this workshop, photographer and Westminster member Tom Northenscold will guide participants through learning how to scan your film negatives, slides, and prints, creating files that you can enjoy on your digital devices and share with others. You will also learn about scanning services that will scan your film archives for you. Please bring along a few negatives, slides, or prints to practice with.
Bake a Loaf for Communion at Home

Gather in Westminster’s kitchen to learn about baking Communion bread with Westminster member Joey Rockenstein! Each participant will shape, decorate and bake a small round or braid of wheat bread to use at home during a communion service. You can break the loaf along with the liturgy and share it with fellow worshippers as was common in the early church. No baking experience needed. Bring an apron.
Painting/Sketching Things that Speak to us in Church

Join Westminster artist James Nutt and Artist-in-Residence Katherine Parent for a beginner level watercolor sketching workshop. Following a brief lesson, participants will be sent out to explore the church and do quick sketches with pencil/pen/watercolor. Materials will be provided or you are welcome to bring your own. All skill levels are welcome! (Registrations now filled)
Little Bells, Big Bells

Gather with Westminster organist and ensemble director Joseph Trucano in Westminster’s Great Hall Balcony for a hands-on demonstration with our handbells! You will explore Westminster’s handbell collection as well as try out various ringing techniques and styles. Following our musical exploration of the little bells, we will journey up to Westminster’s roof (weather permitting) to get a closer look at Westminster’s big bells, the six-bell peal recently installed from the Paccard Bell Foundry in Annecy, France.
