Community Partner Opportunities
Kwanzaa 21st Century Academy Volunteer: Volunteer from an hour or two a week to several per day at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. Contact Rev. Dr. Alika Galloway.
Reading Partners: Reading Partners harnesses the power of community volunteers to make a meaningful and measurable difference in reading proficiency. Our volunteer reading partners empower students to succeed in reading and in life by providing individualized, personal attention to each student in our program. Learn more.
Families in Transition: Act as a mentor to a family selected by Episcopal Community Services, meeting as needed to listen and offer support as the family works to better their situation. Each family is on a 6-month contract with an option to renew.
Meals on Wheels
Volunteers are needed Mondays from 11 am-noon to deliver meals. You can sign up for as little as one day per month.
Hospitality
Greeters: Red Rovers, Greeters and Ushers should contact Sarah Brouwer.
Memorial Receptions: Volunteers needed to serve coffee and cake during memorial receptions as needed on weekdays and weekends. Contact Vanessa Uzong.
Silver Service Receptions: Coordinator needed to plan, set up and supervise volunteers during occasional silver service receptions on Sundays after the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Although the receptions themselves are occasional, the need for a coordinator is an ongoing commitment. Contact Sarah Brouwer.
Sunday Receptionists and Pew Crew members
Volunteer as a receptionist. Contact Marlyne Quiel. Help fill the pew pockets weekly. Contact Judith Cook.
Congregational Care
Roseville Presbyterian Homes: Organize and participate in a worship service held at the facility one Sunday every other month. Assist residents who wish to attend the service. Contact David Shinn.
Member to Member Care Team: Visit homebound members and those in hospital according to a schedule developed by the Pastoral Care Council. Contact David Shinn.
Social Service Sewing: Participate in the oldest service group at Westminster, still going strong after more than 100 years! Craft prayer shawls, blankets and other items for those in need, the second Sunday of the month (after worship), or you can work from home. Contact Sarah Brouwer.
