Global Partners Month at Westminster

The world is coming to Westminster in May!

All three of Westminster’s global partner congregations will send delegations to visit Minneapolis in May. Church leaders from Cameroon, Cuba, and Palestine will join us for worship, study, conversation, prayer, feasting, and fellowship throughout the month.

The pastor and several elders from the Kumba Town Presbyterian Church brought greetings in worship on Sunday, May 6. We enjoyed Cameroonian music and heard from our Cameroonian partners at a luncheon. The delegation also met with the session and board of deacons on May 10.

Church leaders from El Redentor Presbyterian Church in Matanzas worshipped with us on Youth Sunday, May 13. On Wednesday, May 16 Westminster is hosting a community-wide conversation on U.S.-Cuba Relations, featuring the Cuban church leaders. We’ll also host a breakfast with the Cuba delegates on Thursday, May 17 at 7:30 am.

The delegation from Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem arrives next. The pastor and elders will bring greetings in worship on Sunday, May 20. Palestinian musicians will offer music that day, and the congregation will have an opportunity to hear from our Bethlehem church partners at a lunch after worship.

From Thursday, May 17 through Saturday, May 19 Westminster will host the Windows into Palestine, a festival of Palestinian art and culture.

The three global delegations and Westminster leaders will join in a two-day program led by The Rev. Dr. Matt Skinner of Luther Seminary.
