Youth

Taking time to both serve and play, youth learn about their spirituality
and faith by living in community.

Middle School Program

Sundays at 9:15 am, September–May, Social Service Room (lower level)
Middle school youth gather to dig into faith and talk about how it relates to their daily lives. This is a time to hang out with friends, meet new people, and grow together as a group.

Middle School Youth Group (lower level, Scout Room)
Youth form meaningful relationship with peers they may have known for years or are meeting for the first time. Fellowship activities, mission opportunities (including a mission trip each summer), and reflection form the foundation of this group.

High School Program

Sundays at 9:15 am, September–May, Youth Room (lower level)
Senior high students meet to check in about the week, explore spiritual practices, and wrestle with how to nurture a grounded faith in daily life.

Senior High Youth Group
The Senior High Youth Group provides opportunities to form deeper relationships and a place to be challenged and grow. Senior high youth events are offered twice per month and include retreats, mission opportunities, an annual show spoofing the church, and regular fellowship events.

In addition, high schools groups meet bi-weekly in different youth’s homes to enjoy dinner together, relax, and discuss current events in the context of our faith. It’s a time to share what is going on in our lives and have fellowship other outside the context of the church.

Confirmation

Wednesdays 6:15–7:45 pm
Confirmation is typically for ninth graders at Westminster. The class engages young people through creative, experiential, and thoughtful conversation around the core meaning of faith and spirituality. Whether exploring what it means to be a Christian, Presbyterian, or member of Westminster, our confirmation class is rooted in each student’s own identity and development.

Summer Events

Westminster’s youth mission trips give youth an opportunity to be transformed by engaging with new perspectives and wider contexts. These trip also strengthen the group’s cohesion and wholeness.

  • Middle School Mission Trip

This five-day service learning trip explores different regions of MN each year. Middle schoolers learn about the communities we live in and how mission, service, and Christian fellowship starts at home.

  • High School Mission Trip

This nine-day, domestic trip explores different regions of the U.S. each year. This trip often includes both physical and interpersonal mission opportunities.

  • Camp Ajawah

Since 1922, boys and girls throughout the world have experienced summer fun at Ajawah. Founded by Westminster Boy Scout Troop 33, Ajawah holds four summer sessions, two for girls and two for boys. Over the years, Ajawah has remained committed to a rustic camping experience, emphasizing active and personal interaction by removing distractions, like television and computers, from the camp lifestyle. We believe that the best way to have fun in the summer is to lace up your shoes and head out into the sunshine with friends. Learn more at ajawah.org
